Learn to live
MEDIAN operates four clinics to deliver different therapy concepts for children and adolescents who face challenges in their development.
The medical rehabilitation for children and adolescents is specifically designed to ease chronic illnesses, prevent late complications and improve educational performance. This sustainably improves the quality of life of young patients.
Within a structured daily routine, treatment includes a healthy mix of sports, play and school, as well as work with doctors, psychologists, therapists, nutritionists and educators.
Treatment of chronic diseases
MEDIAN is an expert in the therapy of chronic diseases. Especially at a young age, it is difficult to understand the disease and how to deal with it and to accept the resulting limitations - whereas our approach is to change that.
The most common chronically treated diseases include:
- Diabetes mellitus TYP 1
- Pulmological diseases
- Obesity
- Skin conditions
- Gastroenterological conditions
- Musculoskeletal conditions
Long-term treatment of chronic diseases
If the need for treatment goes beyond an inpatient rehabilitation of several weeks, MEDIAN offers long-term support to young people to provide ongoing care and structure.
The treatment focuses on building self-confidence and a positive outlook on the future - in spite of any chronic condition they may have.
Patients learn that their illness does not have to hold them back on their way to building a career, or stop them from integrating socially. The treatment provided means children and adolescents are prepared to return to their parents or begin an independent life.
Mental health programmes for children and adolescents
Mental health conditions are increasing among children and adolescents. In particular, psychological stressors such as social insecurity, adjustment disorders and reactions to severe stress means that it can be difficult for them to cope with their lives. Our balanced programme of therapy and experiential education paves the way for a healthy future.
A special program for young adults
MEDIAN offers a special treatment for 16 to 21-year-old young people who need help to cope with different life and developmental crises. In the process, the young adults are supported in finding their own way within their family and peer group, which enables growth and development.
