About MEDIAN Group

Committed to supporting people to live their lives by continually improving the quality of the treatment we provide.

Supporting people to live their lives

Our shared goal throughout the MEDIAN Group is to provide high quality services so that the people we support can participate as fully and independently as possible in their lives. A commitment to continuous quality improvement and collaboration is fundamental to this, as is sharing knowledge and expertise across our sites in Germany, UK and Spain. Our aim is to provide the highest quality care across Europe - from acute treatment through to aftercare.

Quotes from the Management Board

"We take our responsibility for people's health very seriously and ar erelentless in our dedication to providing the highest quality of treatment and care. To this end we invest in research and take part in medical studies."

The future in sight

History of the MEDIAN Group

The MEDIAN Group was first established with MEDIAN in Germany and is based on the philosophy that rehabilitation and mental health services can be significantly improved if high-quality clinics unite and combine their medical and therapeutic expertise.

In 2011 the current management of the MEDIAN Group took over responsibility for the long-established RHM clinics, which at that time provided around 1,850 beds and treatment places in 26 facilities. The basic strategic orientation of today's MEDIAN, with the areas of inpatient and outpatient rehabilitation, acute psychiatry and sociotherapy, has been continuously developed on this basis. As a result, MEDIAN in Germany is today a modern company with currently over 120 clinics and facilities, which, through the merger with renowned clinic groups and the integration of individual highly specific clinics, has the highest level of expertise and decades of experience in rehabilitation.

The size of our organisational structure has made it possible to implement the MEDIAN quality philosophy across a broad area while continuing to invest in the quality of our treatment, primarily thanks to synergies within our business and cost savings in areas which are not patient-focussed.

The groundwork was laid for the wider expansion of the MEDIAN philosophy within Europe in 2021 with the merger of MEDIAN in Germany with Priory in the United Kingdom, under the new MEDIAN B.V. holding. In summer 2023, Hestia in Spain became part of the MEDIAN family.

Founded in 1980, Priory Group is a leading provider of mental health and social care services in the UK. Priory treats people privately for a range of mental health services, including addiction and eating disorders. It is a large, independent provider of mental health and rehabilitation services to the UK's National Health Services (NHS), and its social care services include: older people's care, and residential care homes and supported living facilities for autistic people and people with a learning disability.

Hestia has been providing high quality health and social care services for over 30 years and is considered a specialist in integrative care in Spain. It delivers person-centered mental health and socio-sanitary care across the regions of: Catalonia, Madrid, Galicia and the Balearic Islands

Today, MEDIAN Group, with more than 29,400 employees in Germany, Great Britain, Northern Ireland and Spain, treats around 290,000 patients every year in 425 clinics and facilities, making it one of Europe's leading providers in the field of mental health and rehabilitation.
